Zarmeeneh is the General Counsel of Exage and a Partner at Sohail & Partners LLP. She is an Attorney holding more than 15 years of legal experience, holds an LLM in International Human Rights Law from Queen Mary University, London, an LLB from Durham University, United Kingdom, and a BA (Hons) from McGill University. Zarmeeneh’s practice areas include corporate, regulatory law, international law, legislative policy and drafting, inter-governmental agency consultancies, legal education, and training.
Zarmeeneh started her career at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, Toronto, and thereafter joined the United Nations Office of Project Services (UNOPS) special assistant to the Chief of Staff of the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Iqbal Riza. She has also worked at the U.N. Secretariat, Office of the Legal Counsel, U.N. Headquarters assisting the International Tribunals for Yugoslavia and Rwanda, and the Special Court for Sierra Leone. Zarmeeneh served as general counsel and company secretary for L’Oréal Pakistan and as a senior associate at Vellani & Vellani focusing on intellectual property rights and competition law. She has founded Pakistan’s first corporate law magazine, The Counsel, and is the founder and general secretary of the Continuing Legal Education Institute of Pakistan.
Zarmeeneh likes to learn new skills and often takes on challenging projects in her spare time – from new cooking techniques and art projects to home renovations and kitchen gardening. She’s also an avid tennis and cricket fan and enjoys yoga, swimming, and hiking.
